Rowland Ricketts, FALU, graduated from Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut in May of 1963. At the time, there were plenty of jobs available in what used to be known as “The Insurance City.” Connecticut Mutual interviewed him and asked, “What do you know about Underwriting?” “Nothing” he said, and the reply was “Can you start Monday?” His insurance career took him to many companies and to many countries as well. Rowland was one of the key people behind the birth of the FALU program and was both a mentor to and staunch defender of underwriting and underwriters throughout his 50+ year career.
